After a week of sunshine and lovely weather, we were greeted on Friday morning with dark clouds and heavy rain. Typically, the BIH go-karting afternoon for the company was scheduled on the one afternoon it had rained that week.
The track was covered with water, but nevertheless we got kitted up and set out for our practice and qualifying laps. After a few bumps and scrapes, several yellow flags and many racers spinning off the track, we had our places on the starting grid and lined up for the final race.
In the first few corners, a bit of foul play by our CEO went unnoticed by the marshals and meant he had steamrollered his way up to 2nd. As the race went on, the track started to dry out and the lap times were getting faster, but there was no catching Sales as they comfortably maintained their 1st place position and rolled home to victory. Our CEO finished in 2nd and Projects closely followed in 3rd, although they may feel a bit hard done by and will certainly be looking for revenge on the next outing.
After the trophy was awarded we met in the restaurant and were treated to lunch.
A great afternoon out and we all look forward to the next one.
